Wandering

Oh my! I haven't posted for seventeen days! That's almost three weeks! Looks like I started one on the nineteenth, but I don't remember what I was going to write about, so I guess it doesn't matter. Wednesday I devoted the whole day to homework. Well, except for the part of the day that I went to see Nikki at school. I felt like I'd gotten so much done! I even got ahead in one of my classes, by writing the critiques that are due Tuesday. In class the next day, I started a list of all of the homework I have left to do this week. I ended up with nine things on the list. Including a midterm. Which is crazy, because it's--never mind, it's going to be the seventh week of the semester. This year is going by so quickly. Which stinks, because it's the last one. I've decided I'm going to Europe this summer. My friend may go with me (I hope she does, if not I think I'll go with my school.). I just really think that if I don't go now, I never, e...

To Be Truly Accomplished

Well, that last one was kind of boring. I mean, the topic was kind of interesting, but there's a reason I'm a fiction writer. So, that last one was kind of boring. I think this time I wanted to talk about something. Something in particular. Grey's Anatomy. That show makes me want to be a surgeon. Except that I don't like blood, or cut skin, and I don't think I could stick a knife in somebody and cut them open and mess with their insides. It's really gross to me. So it's kind of odd that I want to be a surgeon. And no, it's not because all of them seem to be beautiful and have some kind of luck with guys (I've only finished the first three seasons, so whatever luck they don't have after that, I have no idea of). And it's definitely not because they have to tell so many people they couldn't save the life of somebody they love. I couldn't really tell you why I want to be a surgeon, except that they do something. They may not be able...

Day Dreaming

In my freshman Psychology class, I learned all about the stages of sleep. There are four. The first is very light, only lasts about 5-10 minutes, and if interrupted (if someone wakes you during this first stage) you probably wouldn't even remember you'd fallen asleep. You'd probably deny it. The second stage is longer, and it lasts around half an hour. Stages 3 and 4 are spent in deeper sleep. Stage 4 is when you are in what is called the REM stages of sleep. Basically REM stands for Rapid Eye Movement, meaning that while dreaming, while sleeping, your eyes look around quickly and continuously. This is also the stage where most dreams occur. If woken from this stage, you will experience a kind of temporary paralysis, where you can't move your limbs. Pretty interesting, right? I had a dream the other night that was really weird. In fact, pretty much every dream I've ever had has been weird. Is that just part of the territory? But in my dreams, if I'm not dr...
